COLIPI is The Yeast Oil Company.
We produce oils and proteins to feed the world sustainably and affordably.
Applying single cell microbial production processes, we create value at zero land use (no deforestation) and zero carbon footprint. Yeast oils are superior to both fossil and vegetable alternatives.
We stand indeed at the edge of the abyss."

Protecting the climate Means saving lives
Protecting the climate means saving lives. We are currently on track for 1.000.000.000 people facing potentially fatal heat-stress risk from a 2 degrees rise and above in a few years from now (UK Meteorological Office).
We invite you to counteract today together with us applying COLIPI circular platform approaches and carbon capturing and utilization technology.
We capture carbon and utilize it circularly
We produce oils and proteins from industrial side streams. We create them through natural fermentation putting wild type yeast cells to work.
Our production is enhanced by proprietary carbon capture and utilization (CCU) solutions. You benefit. The climate benefits.

Industrial partners and their customers benefit
COLIPI’s circular platform approach in addition to its carbon capturing and utilization technology creates oil and protein raw materials with minimal environmental footprint. This enables industrial partners to produce blockbuster products while reducing corporate GHG scope 3 metrics.

Cosmetics
In cosmetic products COLIPI yeast essential oils have antioxidant and probiotic effect with high concentrations of bioactive compounds like vitamins.

Foods
As food ingredient COLIPI single cell alternative proteins and single cell oils are a sustainable foundation for healthy and vegan products.

Oleochemistry
For oleochemical products like surfactants and lubricants, COLIPI yeast oils are GHG scope 3 decreasing drop-in chemicals mimicking vegetable oils.

We reach UN SDG with science
We believe that existing and new technologies will contribute to protecting the climate and preserving the nature. Our endeavour will directly pay into following United Nation Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production,
- SDG 13 Climate Action, and indirectly into
- SDG 15 Life on Land.
We are grateful
We are grateful for the non-dilutive governmental grant EXIST Transfer of Research Programme (EXIST) that is provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and European Social Fund for Germany (ESF). We are thankful for the support by Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) which provides office and laboratory space.
