Climate Oils

Are you a corporate sustainability or procurement manager with a CEO setting goals like “Net Zero Emissions” by 2050? Okay, read on.

For Climate Protection

Fossil and vegetable oils contribute to global CO2 emissions. The median CO2 footprint of vegetable oils is 4 kg CO2e per kg oil (Alcock, 2022). The growing demand for the latter accumulated to 210 Mio tons per year in 2021 requiring cultivable land for oil crops in size comparable to India (OECD/FAO, 2021).

Corporate CO2 footprint is allocated to GHG Scope 1, Scope 2 and “value chain emission” Scope 3. The latter often represents 80% of total emissions (Schulman, 2021). CO2 footprints of raw materials like vegetable oil add to Scope 3.

We Turn CO2 To Oils

We decarbonize corporate Scope 3 with carbon-light bio-materials. Our first products are functional oils with a carbon footprint of nearly 0 CO2e per kg oil (cradle-to-grave).

By Proprietary Precision Fermentation

Instead of brewing beer, we brew oils. Instead of feeding cane or beet sugar, we feed CO2 and residual biomass. Natural microorganisms efficiently transform these carbon sources to oils with lowest CO2 footprints.
